More victories in San Roque

The demanding Old Course of San Roque was the venue last Monday of the 5th tournament of the professional circuit of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation. We had "Guadalmin @ s" victories in both the men's and ladies categories. Laura Cabanillas and Noemí Jiménez shared the title with Mª Ángeles Jiménez Miguel (+3) and Juan Carlos Osorio and Haiko Dana did the same in men's with Miguel Ángel Jiménez Jr thanks to a round of -3.

With these new victories, it is worth noting that of the 5 tournaments played this year, 4 have fallen into the hands of a Guadalmina player (in the men's category) and 3 in the ladies category. Awesome.

That's how things are in the Ranking after the San Roque event:

Ladies: 2nd Laura Cabanillas and 4th Noemí Jiménez

Men’s: 2nd Dani Osorio and 3rd Juan Carlos Osorio

Senior: 4th Castor Gómez

Club Series Golf landed in Guadalmina for the dispute of the 3rd tournament of its circuit

Seven tournaments across a large part of the Spanish geography in seven emblematic venues, including a national final in Mijas Golf, with a marvelous list of collaborators. That was the bet of the circuit organized by Sponsory . And, of course, Guadalmina could not reject the proposal.

This past Saturday the 3rd round of the Club Series was held on our South course with a total of 84 players, including members and guests.

After a perfect day of golf, with welcome pack, supplies on the 11th hole (tasting the spectacular ham Covap ) and an elegant cocktail (bar gintonics including courtesy of Plymouth Gin ), we conclude with a generous prize giving, with interesting gifts.

Massive thanks to Club Series and in particular to its Director, Alfonso Castro, for trusting in the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina, to all the players and congratulations to the winners.

Last week we celebrate the victory of Dani Osorio in a tournament of the circuit of professionals of the RFGA. Also, Angel Hidalgo was selected for representing continental Europe in the St Andrews Trophy. Big things.

And in the Absolute Andalusian Championship this weekend Calvin John Greschner has confirmed his good form by proclaiming himself Champion of Andalusia 2018 thanks to a cumulative of -3. Very close was Laura Gomez (T-2) to make 100% for Guadalmina, staying only 1 stroke of the winner, Mª Teresa Toscano. Meritorious 6th place tied for Álvaro Mueller-Baumgart, 12th for Ignacio Gómez, 18th for Alejandro Chacón and T25 for Sonny Burrell. Final results, here.

It is the 5th victory of a player of our club in the last 7 years. And in girls, it would have been the 3rd in the last 4.

Congratulations to all, let the party not decay!

Come on, Guadalmina!

Ángel Hidalgo has done it again; SPANISH NATIONAL AMATEUR CHAMPION!

The week in Puerta de Hierro (Madrid), with 79 shots the 1st day, did not start in the best way for Ángel. But of course, we are talking about one of the best players in the amateur scene in Spain (if not the best), and we can never consider him dead. And precisely that happened; was climbing positions as the days passed (70 and 72 in the following rounds) and reached the final day 3 shots behind of the leaders (Rodriguez-Tabernero and Del Rey).

Hidalgo started the day like a rocket, with 6 birdies in the first 8 holes, making all his opponents scared. But a couple of errors midway through and some skills from Del Rey, caused an exciting final, with a play-off included. Finally, spectacular victory for the player of Real Club de Golf Guadalmina.

According to Ángel Hidalgo (see interview), this 2nd title in the Spanish Championship has been even more special than the first for two very simple reasons: it was one of the clear favorites (and it's not easy to manage this situation) and, of course, the spirit to overcome that 79 of the 1st round.

Angel is great on the course, but even more outside. Do not miss the beautiful words (see video) he had towards his family, club, friends and other "guilty" of all this.

Having a champion of these dimensions is a pride for our Club.¡Our most sincere congratulations!

Also to highlight the great role of the rest of the members of the School:

T19 Calvin John Greschner

T25 Lukas Pany

T33 Álvaro Mueller-Baumgart

56th Ignacio Gómez Osuna

The one that had a positive week was also Noemí Jiménez (one more), finishing 7th in the Viaplay Ladies Finnish Open, at the LET Acces Series. Bravo! Now, she is 2nd in the rankings.

Wins for Dani Osorio and Noemi Jiménez in Almeria

The 1st tournament of the season of the "Circuito de profesionales RFGA was held in Almerimar and was won by a member of Guadalmina. 67 shots were enough to win the tournament by 2. Daniel Osorio, who reached a Top 20 on Alps Tour last week, seems he hit the nail on the head. Come on, Dani!

Juan Carlos Osorio (-1 / T-18), Sergio Gutiérrez (-1 / T-18), Haiko Dana (+3 / T-22) and our School Director Cástor Gómez (2nd in senior category with -1) were also present on Monday. And "super" Noemi Jiménez won with -3 (by 5 shots), her second title of the season. Congratulations!

Total success in the session of Psychology introduced by Rocío Pomares

Very formative day with RFGA psychologist Rocío Pomares. In two sessions, one with the parents and the other with the children, Rocío explained the fundamental bases of psychology, to later focus on us: how parents can improve in supporting our children and how our little champions can manage his "up & downs" during competition and in the practice of golf in general.

More than 50 participants in total (23 parents and 30 children) attended this innovative talk and the response could not be more positive: "nice!, we need more sessions like this".

Thanks to Rocío for the fantastic day and our Academy Director Castor Gómez for organizing it with her.

And to top off the day we witnessed 2 HOLES IN ONE! in the Monthly School competition in the Par 3 course. Congratulations to Pablo Hidalgo Portillo (hole 4) and David Schneider (hole 1).

Congratulations to the winners, Nicolas Barclays (spectacular result of -6 scratch), Pablo Hidalgo (-4 scratch, -6 hdcp), Ana Rodríguez (handicap) and Jaime Macías (scratch) in category "9 holes" and of course thanks to all the participants for this great day. Special mention to the 15 children without national handicap who dared to compete, several of them for the first time. It is a real pleasure to have such a good group starting. Thanks to the parents who support them and who also have done a great job as markers.
