First win of Noemi Jimenez in international land

3 days of golf that almost touch the perfection (only 1 bogey in 54 holes) were enough merit to won yesterday the VP Bank Ladies Open, tournament corresponding to the 2nd Ladies European Tour division (LET Acces Series).

The player formed in Real Club de Golf de Guadalmina sealed her triumph with an imperious final round of 66 shots, with birdie on 18th included and free of bogeys.

Believe it or not, it is Noemi's first victory on European soil (as a professional) and has come at a perfect time. Remember that a few weeks ago we told you that she finished 3rd in the first event of LETAS season (see news) and it was going to be very tough to reach again the european tour card with such a difficult category. But... THE WIN has gone in the 2nd event! She reached the first place on the rankings and the things looks awesome.

From the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina we send you a big hug. Congrats to you & your team!

The teams of Guadalmina, runners-up in the Interclubs of Andalucía

The Real Club de Golf de Guadalmina took 2 teams to represent the club at Real Club Pineda de Sevilla and both almost won.

The B team (Ángel Hidalgo, Christiaan Reijnders, George Trowbridge and Alexander Reynders) finished only three shots away from the title in the 1st category, while the team formed by Paco Castaño, Luis Mansilla, Miguel Gutiérrez and Pedro Ángel Alonso were 2nd in 2nd category.

Congratulations to both, next year bring the trophy to Guadalmina please!

Check the results here.

Álvaro Mueller-Baumgart, runner-up in the U-16 Spanish Champ

Joseba Torres, nephew of the Masters winner, Jose María Olazábal, was the only one capable of making fewer shots last week than Álvaro Mueller-Baumgart in Font del Llop during the last Spanish Championship REALE U-16. Regularity in pure state for the young promise of the Club: 76-76-75.

This great performance only confirms its excellent state of form. Champion of the Barbésula Trophy in La Cañada, National Puntuable Champion in Hacienda Riquelme, Scratch Champion Youth Circuit in Guadalmina ... and, now, this 2nd place in the Spanish Championship.

Superb, Alvaro!

Rebeca, Alejandro, Evelina and Nico, winners at Playa Serena

17 children of the Academy, accompanied by our teacher Salvador Ruiz, were participating in the Puntuable Zonal National in Playa Serena this weekend in some adverse weather conditions. "Tarifa would like to have the wind that it does in Almería", Fernando Ramírez told us.

Well, the wind was not enough to destabilize our kids: they took 4 of the 8 trophies:

Rebeca Fernández, “Infantil” Champion

Alejandro Chacón, “Cadete” Champion

Evelina Stanikova, Runner-up “Cadete”

Nicolas Barclays, Runner-up “Cadete”

Congratulations to the winners and all their mates. Check here the news of the RFGA In the following link you can check the news of the RFGA. Results here.

Meritorious performance also by Jaime Macías (5th with 38 shots in the Pequecircuito of “El Candado”, category under 8 years) and our pros Noemí Jiménez (11th in the LET - leaderboard here) and Azahara Muñoz (T28 in the LPGA - results here).

#GuadalminaPower

Enormous 2nd place of Azahara Muñoz in Hawaii … and much more!

As we told you two weeks ago after the Ana Inspiration http://www.guadalminagolf.com/noticias/noticias.php?id=681&num_pag=0  Aza is playing as the one who invented this sport: just amazing! The victory will come. This week has returned to be very close, finished 2nd solo after shooting the best card in the final round (67), just behind the young Canadian Brooke Henderson. The sampedreña did not finish 2nd in a LPGA tournament since February 2014.

Our most sincere congratulations, Azahara.

With the presence of Azahara in Hawaii, there were 8 tournaments with representation of Guadalmina (historical data). And, as always, there were outstanding performances:

Spanish Open: Ángel Hidalgo missed the cut by 3 shots but managed to play under par, fighting until the end. It was his first tournament in the European Tour and it seemed like it was one more. Congrats to the winner Jon Rahm and all those who made it possible for this Spanish Open  to be a resounding success. Results:

CONSTRUCTION NEW PRACTICE AREA

Dear Members;

As agreed at the last General Meeting of the Club, we will shortly begin work on improving the practice areas, located at the back of the driving range.

These works will include a putting green, a chipping green a long game area, including a tee line of artificial turf and two bunkers one for the short game and one for the long game.

During the works, which will begin on Monday April 16 and which we estimate lasts 45 days, it will not be possible to practice from the back of the driving range, therefore we kindly require Member's collaboration, avoiding as much as possible the practice intensively, to allow practice to the maximum number of Members.

Also during these weeks classes of the Junior School, on Saturday morning, will be adapted to avoid as much as possible causing incoveniences.

We are sure that once completed, we will all benefit from this new area to practice, which will allow us to reduce the pressure on the existing one.

We thank you in advance for your collaboration and we regret any inconvenience that may arise.

3rd place of Noemí Jiménez in the ‘LETAS’

Yes, it's the Let Acces Series (European 2nd division) but this 3rd place is worth a lot. As you know, Noemí could not maintain the category last year in the Ladies European Tour but she has a conditional card (she can play some tournaments) and this year she combines both circuits. The goal is clear: either to do very well in the LET tournaments and keep the card, or to earn the rights via LETAS being up in the rankings at the end of the year.

And at the moment things do not look bad; 3rd place in "Terre Blanche Ladies Open" in the 1st tournament of the season in the satellite circuit, after signing rounds of 69 and 72.

Next stop, Morocco, in the course of the Moroccan Royal House, "Royal Golf Dar Es Salaam" (Lalla Meryem Cup), tournament corresponding to the Ladies European Tour. Here, after 5 tournaments, Noemí is 53rd in the rankings.

C’mon Noemí!
