Great Pro Am to say good bye to 2017

18 teams, consisting of 1 pro and 3 amateurs, met on the penultimate day of the year to contest the VIII Pro Am of the Academy.

The winners were: Casto Gómez Jr, Rebeca Fernandez, Alberto Lora and Valeria Ramírez.

On the other hand, we take the opportunity to commemorate the winners of the Academy Annual Ranking 2017, a fun and competitive ranking, the proof is that in several awards, we did not know the winner until the last tournament. The winners took, among other things, vouchers for technical lessons with our professionals, which makes us think that a 2018 full of success awaits us.

Congrats!

We say goodbye to 2017, winning

For the end of the season, the Club organized an excursion to Cádiz (Campano Golf, in Chiclana), this weekend of December 1-2, where the RFGA celebrated the end of its circuit.

Under the "hard hand" of our teacher Salva Ruiz, we have evidence that enjoyed the 10 children who traveled with the club and also the 4 who decided to travel with their parents on this occasion. Thanks to the parents and to Salva for the photo report that you will see below and for caring for and supporting the children.

Guadalmina triumphed in the Men's Cadet Category with the first three positions obtained by members of our Academy:

Álvaro Mueller-Baumgart

David Waller

Nicolas Barclays

Congratulations!! In addition, Álvaro won the Annual Ranking of the Cadet RFGA, incredible.

Despite not having the best day, it is worth highlighting the excellent season of:

Alejandro Chacón, 2nd  in the Men's Annual Infant Ranking,

Alejandra Sánchez de la Fuente, 2nd in the Annual Female Children's Ranking

4 podiums in the final of the Pequecircuito

The following day, on Sunday December 3rd , 4 little children from our club went with their parents and with the support of the Club from Fernando Ramirez to Lauro Golf, qualified for the final of the Pequecircuito 2017. Congratulations to the 4, our most youthful player, Jaime Macias as well as Valeria Ramirez, Julieta and Javier Rodríguez del Molino. They enjoyed playing a big course, from advanced tees. A good ending with good results: Javier: Sub-champion Special Category in the tournament and also in the annual ranking Julieta and Valeria, 4th in their respective categories of Alevín and Benjamín.

After 6 years, Puerta de Hierro Cup said goodbye to Andalucía

None of the 4 players of Guadalmina who reached the quarterfinals could take the trophy, but even so, the performance of our boys was outstanding.

Álvaro Mueller was defeated in the quarterfinals by champion David Puig, Hidalgo lost with his friend Pany (after, he lost in semis with Romero) in a beautiful match, with play-off included. Also in the semifinals Felipe Barrena lost his match in the 3rd hole of play-off.

It was lovely to see members watching and encouraging the guys during the 4 days, especially from the quarterfinals. They fell, yes, but with their heads held high.

What a great future awaits you, guys. Congratulations to the four.

Chances of win in the Puerta de Hierro Cup

4 of the 8 who have reached the quarterfinals of the Puerta de Hierro Cup are members of Guadalmina (Hidalgo, Pany, Mueller-Baugmart and Barrena). No matter what happens now, success is already a reality. In fact, several of them could still be found in the final; Angel and Felipe or Lukas and Felipe, Angel and Álvaro or Lukas and Álvaro. Tremendous.

Álvaro and Ángel won with solvency their matches (5 and 3 and 5 and 4 respectively), while Felipe (2 and 1) and Lukas (2 and 1) suffered to defeat Zak Zarkaletsos and José Mateo.

The one with the toughest match is the youngest of us, Alvaro, as he faces the feared catalan David Puig. Felipe will play against Esteban Vazquez, one of the highest handicaps of the tournament (1.1), but he beated heavyweight Gorospe, so he has been playing well. Finally, Hidalgo and Pany will face in the first match of the day at 8,30am.

Direct Debit campaing

Dear Member;

From the Administration we have been working to be able to offer a better service, and  We consider that the best way to work more efficiently is to require from all Members, to pay their annual fees by direct debit, preparing ourselves for the time when the direct debit, will the only form of payment accepted in the Club.

Some members already pay your fees through a wire transfer, and therefore we consider it will be very simple for them to use the same bank information and fill the direct debit order for.

To do this, please fill in the attached form and send it to us before December 18th  2017, reminding you that direct debits will benefit from the discount for early payment, although fees will be collected from your account, in the first days of January 2018.

Puerta de Hierro Cup, let the show begin!

From Saturday 28th to Tuesday 31th  a total of 64 players will fight for the prestigious Puerta  de Hierro Cup in Guadalmina, the oldest in the national amateur scene. A Cup that, by the way, celebrates its centenary this year.

Much of the focus will be on local player and current champion Angel Hidalgo, who, in addition, turns out to be the lowest handicap of the whole field (+4.0).

This afternoon we have been able to chat with Angel and despite feeling that his swing is not quite in place, is very eager to start and defend the title at home.

We remember that it is played under the modality of match play without prior classification and the table of matches will be established by the Tournament Committee drawing, with two heads of series

In addition to Hidalgo, we will also have Lukas Pany, Felipe Barrena, Álvaro Mueller-Baugmart and Alex Field, all of them members of the RCGG.

Good luck to all and, above all, try that the Cup stays at home!

We encourage you to come to Guadalmina and see the show.

North Course host another RFGA tournament

Tremendous success of participation. More than 120 children were summoned in Real Club de Golf Guadalmina for the dispute of a new test of the Circuito Juvenil and Benjamin.

Among those 120 children, 29 were from our School. Nicolas Barclay (scratch champ Cadete), Evelina Stanikova (scratch champ and hdcp Junior), Rafael Ramirez (champion hdcp Cadete), Alejandro Chacón (sub-champion scratch Cadete) and David Waller (sub-champion scratch Cadete) were our best performances.

Whether at home or not, the truth is that there are always some of our boys in the top positions. Awesome.

Congratulations to all winners and participants!

Angel Hidalgo almost won in Granada

3 professional tournaments played and 3 great performances. The amateur Ángel Hidalgo debuted in the Gambito Tour with a 6th place in Jerez, followed by an 8th in the Spanish Championship PGA. Thanks to 2 solid rounds under par at Santa Clara Golf (Granada) fought for the win until the last holes, where it finally was 3rd tied.

Haiko Dana, also a member of the club, managed to pass the cut and finished T-42.

Angel arrives in a great shape for the title defense at the Puerta de Hierro Cup, which will be host in Guadalmina from October 28th to 31st.

Our most sincere congratulations and much encouragement for the rest of the season, Angel.
