Gold, silver and bronze at La Estancia

We have not conquered La Estancia but little has been lacking. Gold, silver and bronze. Captained by our teacher David Mencia, 15 players from our Junior Academy went to Chiclana this weekend for the National Zone in La Estancia and things have not gone wrong.

Alejandra Sánchez De La Fuente rose to the victory in infantil-alevin category thanks to a terrorific 2 under on the 1st round. 78 on the second day were enough to prevail with 2 strokes of advantage over Ana Maria Pina. Our young member Rebeca Fernandez ended 3rd with +10.

As for the boys, Alejandro Chacón returned to demonstrate his great state of form obtaining another 2nd position in infantil-alevin, as it did in Playa Serena. Equal of meritorious was the 3rd position of cadete Álvaro Mueller-Baugmart in its category.

Congratulations to all #TeamGuadadalmina!

Our Club host the 2017 Spanish Ladies Open

We are pleased to announce that, next September 18 - 24,  Real Club de Golf Guadalmina will host the next Andalusian Costa del Sol Ladies Open, a Ladies European Tour venue. The tournament will feature as main sponsors, Tourism of Andalusia, Costa del Sol Tourism and Mancomunidad de Municipios of the Western Costa del Sol.

Last Friday we were in the official presentation of the tournament in Malaga representing our Club , Mr. Juan Ramon Martínez Landazábal (President), Mr. Pablo Mansilla, President of the RFGA, Mr. Jaime Salaverri, first vice-president of the RFEG, Francisco Javier Fernández, Councilor for Tourism and Sports of the Junta de Andalucía, who also was delighted because the tournament represents "an opportunity to continue linking the Andalusia brand with sport, Competition and international leadership in a segment that rivals all destinations”.

Neither they wanted to miss the presentation, Mr Elias Bendodo (President of Costa del Sol Tourism) and Margarita Cid (Mancomunidad de Municipios of the Western Costa del Sol), who expressed their enthusiasm for the celebration of the tournament on the Costa del Sol since "contributes to increase in Golf within the female segment of the population and a further more collaborates in our future work for a better management of the seasonality in our destination."

Salaverri and Mansilla highlighted the sponsorship of the three Andalusian institutions and thanked their collaboration and commitment for an event that will undoubtedly be one of the best of the year in the Ladies European Tour.

Finally, our president, Mr. Juan Ramón Martínez, stated that "on behalf of the members of our club I want to transmit all the illusion with which we receive this designation. This Spanish Open will be a great opportunity to demonstrate the ability of our maintenance team and every member of our organization, delighted to collaborate in the good development of the tournament.

If last year, our neighbors from Aloha Golf Club, were in charge of hosting the Spanish Ladies Open, this year, after long negotiations, we accepted the responsability of organizing such a special tournament.

It confirms the interest of the Ladies European Tour and the European Tour for Andalusia, because with this, will be the third tournament to be held this year in the Community, after the already announced Valderrama Masters (European Tour) and Andalusia Costa del Sol Match Play (Challenge Tour) held in La Cala.

The fact that our member of honor Azahara Muñoz tries to revalidate, the title achieved last year and in the club that saw her grow, makes the tournament even more special.

The one that has also confirmed its presence is the Navarrese and friend of Azahara, Carlota Ciganda, another of the stars of European golf. And of course, another member of Guadalmina Golf Club, Noemí Jiménez.

From the club we will do everything possible to present the course in the conditions that an event of this importance deserves.

We cannot say goodbye without thanking all our members the warm welcome this news has received.

Great performance of Laura Gomez at CAA Women`s Championship

Great performance of Laura Gomez in the best tournament of the year

Laura Gómez continues to carry with great success the name of Guadalmina wherever she goes. It was in Williamsburg, Virginia, at the CAA Women's Championship, where Laura was climbing positions day after day to sign 72 shots (E) in the last round to end in a meritorious 4th place.

Since 2014 a player from "The Dukes" (James Madison University) did not get a 4th place. Moreover, the good performance of Laura led to a notorious 4th place for The Dukes in the team classification.

Congrats, Laura!
