Interclub Real Club de Golf Guadalmina vs La Quinta

Men’s Interclub R.C.G.Guadalmina vs. La Quinta

We played at Guadalmina North Course on March 7th in fine conditions. The North Course is in a fine shape with nice grass on the fairways which was commented by our opponents from la Quinta, who enjoyed the day and the fine food after the game. Guadalmina won 5:1. The return match at la Quinta A+C was played on the 11th equally in fine conditions weather and course wise. La Quinta won at home 3½ to 2½. The total result was a win for Guadalmina with 7½:4½. The Guadalmina players were pleased to bring the trophy back home after la Quinta won it last year. The Guadalmina team consisted of Aurelio Lora, Antonio Guerrero, Hans Kaiser, Paco Guerrero, Manuel Ruiz, Lars Sahlin, Kristian Bergland, Lennart Wiberg, Pedro Irujo, Miguel Gutierrez, Jose Duarte and Lars Torp C.

“Away Days 2014”

Welcome to Guadalmina Away Days 5/6-8 May at Montenmedio Golf and Country Club

The Captains have been visiting several golf courses in Andalucia and discussing hotel and courses. Most golf courses are already booked by travel agencies and the only alternative is late starts all our days. Other golf courses have not had the quality that we require. A third aspect is the time of travel as well as the costs of travelling long streches. We also want to visit a “new” golf course.

Harmony, tranquility, aestheticly – art of golf

One of the best courses we visited was Montenmedio. It was many years since the club was there. The time of travel is only one and a half hour. The Hacienda where we stay is in an Andalucian style with courtyards. We are the only guests so the hotel is ours for a private Guadalmina atmosphere with all our golf friends. The rooms are four star standard. A disadvantage is that we can only be 50 players. The golf course is one of the most beautiful with tranquility and views over the valley. Horses, peacocks and other birds are seen along the holes. Not a single building or carretera affects it´s fairways. It is surrounded by forests of wild olive, cork oak and pine trees.

A special feature is the newly opened Japanese restaurant. A well known Sevilla chef make beautiful presented and well tasting food. You have many alternative Japanese and asian dishes to choose from. There is also a mediating art museum.

Full information and entry list is in the club house.
