SPRING PARTY , A TRIBUTE TO JAMES BOND

On the 25th of May, the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina celebrated its Spring Party, thanks to the great work of the Ladies Section, led by Lynn Nathan, Laura Sullivan and Jane Rossi.
The more than 100 guests enjoyed the menu prepared by our Chef Juan Espinosa, consisting of six designer canapés.
  1. Goldfinger, a golden goat cheese bonbon on candied apple and caramelized onion
  2. Malecón Tuna, red tuna tataki from Cádiz, on confit potato from a mill.
  3. Orient Express, deconstructed Gilda, with a Bloody Mary pipette
  4. License to Enjoy, warm blinis, on a bed of citrus, with scallop tartare, mango, and lumpfish roe.
  5. Die Another Day… but not today, flambéed king prawn, in its reduced juice, with red Martini.
  6. For Your lips Only, a pheasant candy, on glazed chestnut and maraschino cherry.

Afterwards we enjoyed a choice between meat or fish.

Live and Let Live, A magnificent Filet Mignon, on a bed of mashed potato, with reduced muscatel grape sauce, live to order it another day.

Dr. Yes. Sole Popiettes with Prawns, with seafood reduction sauce and red Martini, accompanied by asparagus and potatoes.

Our friends from Cocktail Studio were delighted to prepare James’ classic cocktails.

  1. Vesper Martini: Probably the most famous thanks to the phrase “shaken, not stirred”. The Vesper Martini was first introduced in the novel “Casino Royale.”
  2. Dry Martini: Although the Vesper is specific to Bond, in several films he is seen enjoying a classic Dry Martini, usually prepared with gin and dry vermouth, garnished with an olive or a slice of lemon.
  3. Americano: In “From Russia with Love”, Bond opts for an Americano, a softer cocktail made with Campari, red vermouth, and a splash of soda water.
  4. Negroni: Mentioned in the movie “Spectre”, the Negroni is a cocktail that contains equal parts gin, red vermouth, and Campari, usually served with an orange slice.
  5. Mojito: In “Die Another Day”, Bond enjoys a Mojito while in Cuba. This popular Caribbean cocktail is made with white rum, sugar, lime, soda water, and fresh mint leaves.
We continued the night enjoying the music of Luis Dj’s around the dance floor and we closed the evening around the Black Jack Poker holdem and roulette tables, thanks to the collaboration of some friends, who offered us from a magnificent Aston Martin to a professional roulette.
All in all an unforgettable night, a presage of many more to come at Real Club de Golf Guadalmina.
